Recognition of Academic Excellence in Foreign Languages – Scholarship Awarding Ceremony 2025
The Department of Language Skills Development organized a scholarship awarding ceremony on 26th June 2025 to recognize students who achieved the highest grades in their final examinations in Tamil, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and French.
The scholarships were generously sponsored by Most Venerable Hai Hui Thero, who also served as a visiting lecturer in Chinese in the Department of Language Skills Development.
The event was graced by the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Most Venerable Chair Professor Homagama Dhammananda Thero; the Dean of the Faculty of Buddhist Studies, Most Venerable Beragama Saddhananda Thero; the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Language Studies, Most Venerable Professor Gonadeniye Pannarathana Thero; Most Venerable Hai Hui Thero; as well as the Head and academic staff of the Department of Language Skills Development, the scholarship recipients, and other students.
