ශ්රී ලංකා බෞද්ධ හා පාලි විශ්වවිද්යාලය ආරම්භයේ සිට වසර තිස්පහක් වැනි කාලයක් විශ්වවිද්යාලයීය ශාස්ත්රීය අභිවර්ධනය පිණිස සිය කුසලතා දායකත්වයෙන් කටයුතු කොට ඉසිඹු හළ ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ මහාචාර්ය පූජ්ය ඇකිරියගල නන්ද නාහිමියන්ගේ අමිල මෙහෙවර අගයමින්, බෞද්ධ සංස්කෘතිය අධ්යයනාංශයේ සංවිධාන ශක්තියෙන් 2024.03.25 දින ශ්රී ලංකා බෞද්ධ හා පාලි විශ්වවිද්යාලයීය පුස්තකාල ශ්රවණාගාරයේ දී උපහාර උත්සවයක් පැවැත්විණ.
එහිදී, ඇකිරියගල නන්ද නාහිමිපාණන් වහන්සේ විසින් ක්ෂේත්රයට දක්වන ලද ඉමහත් දායකත්වය වෙනුවෙන් දැක්විය හැකි ඉහළම ගෞරවය ලෙස, විවිධ විශ්වවිද්යාලය නියෝජනය කරන ක්ෂේත්රයේ ප්රකට විද්වතුන් විසින් රචිත ශාස්ත්රීය ලිපි 24කින් සමන්විත ව සංස්කරණය කරන ලද 'නන්දප්රභා' නන්ද නාහිමි උපහාර ශාස්ත්රීය සංග්රහය එළිදැක්වීම සිදුවිය. මහාචාර්ය ඇකිරියගල නන්ද නාහිමියන්ගේ අනුපමේය කැපවීම හා සේවය අගයමින් උන්වහන්සේට මෙම ශාස්ත්රීය ග්රන්ථය පිළිගැන්වීම මහත් අභිමානයක් ඇති කළ අවස්ථාවක් විය.
ගෞරවනීය මහෝපාධ්යයන් වහන්සේ, සියලුම පීඨවල පීඨාධිපතිවරු, අධ්යයනාංශ ප්රධානීන්, අධ්යයන හා අනධ්යයන කාර්ය මණ්ඩල සාමාජිකයින් ඇතුළු ගෞරවනීය සම්භාවනීය අමුත්තන් මෙන්ම කීර්තිමත් විශ්වවිද්යාලවල සම්භාවනීය ආරාධිත අමුත්තන් ද මෙම අවස්ථාවට එක්ව සිටියහ. විශ්රාමික මහාචාර්ය පූජ්ය ඇකිරියගල නන්ද නාහිමියන්ගේ ඥාතීන්ගේ හා විශ්වවිද්යාලයීය විද්යාර්ථින්ගේ හෘදයාංගම සහභාගීත්වය ද මෙම විශේෂ අවස්ථාව ආලෝකමත් කිරීමෙහි සමත් විය.
We are delighted to share highlights from the recent tribute ceremony held in honor of Retired Ven. Professor Ekiriyagala Nanda Thera, a distinguished figure who dedicated 35 years to the enrichment of knowledge and education. The ceremony was organized by the Department of Buddhist Culture, and took place on March 25, 2024, at the Library Auditorium of the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka.
During the ceremony, a prestigious festschrift volume titled ''Nandaprabhā" was unveiled, paying homage to Retired Ven. Professor Ekiriyagala Nanda Thera's extraordinary contributions. This volume, consisting of 24 academic articles authored by esteemed scholars from various universities, serves as a testament to the profound impact of his work on academia. It was a moment of great pride as the volume was presented to Retired Ven. Professor Ekiriyagala Nanda Thera in recognition of his unparalleled dedication and service.
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including the Venerable Vice Chancellor, Deans of all faculties, Heads of departments, academic and non-academic staff, as well as distinguished guests from renowned universities. The heartfelt participation of relatives of Retired Ven. Professor Ekiriyagala Nanda Thera and the university's undergraduates added to the warmth and significance of the occasion. We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who joined us in celebrating the remarkable legacy of Retired Ven. Professor Ekiriyagala Nanda Thera.
