Intensive Course in English & Information Technology - 2023
The Intensive Course in English and Information Technology (IT) for the new intake of first-year students at the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka (BPU) commenced on June 27, 2023, and will continue until July 20, 2023. The course is jointly organized by the Department of English (DOE), the Department of English Language Teaching (DELT), and the Computer Teaching Unit (CTU).
The objective of implementing this course is to provide the first-year students of the university with a strong foundation in English and IT, which are essential for their academic and professional success.
The course is designed to promote practical usage of English rather than focusing solely on theoretical knowledge. To achieve this, various activities and interactive sessions are incorporated to ensure that students can effectively use English in their everyday lives. Similarly, the IT component covers both theoretical and practical aspects of basic IT skills that students need to utilize during their time at the university, enabling them to develop relevant skills for their academic studies and professional growth.
