Assumption of Duties as the Dean of Faculty of Buddhist Studies
Venerable Chair Prof. Homagama Dhammananda Thero assumes duties of the Dean of the Faculty of Buddhist Studies at the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka on May 3, 2024. He holds a B.A. (Hons) in Philosophy from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka (1995), an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Delhi, India (2002), an M.Phil. in Buddhist Philosophy from the University of Sri Jayawardenapura, Sri Lanka (2001), and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Peradeniya (2014). Before assuming the role of Dean, he held positions as the Head of the Department of Religious Studies and Comparative Philosophy at the Buddhist and Pali University and as a Senior Lecturer at Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka, making significant contributions to academia. Ven. Prof. Dhammananda Thero's leadership is marked by a deep understanding of Buddhist philosophy and a commitment to fostering intellectual growth and interdisciplinary research.
