Criteria in Selecting Subjects in the Faculty of Buddhist Studies
The students who get registered for the G AQ examination should compulsorily choose Pali as their first subject. Either Buddhist Philosophy or Buddhist Culture is compulsory as the second subject. Archeology or Religious Studies and Contemporary Philosophy should be the third subject. Apart from that Compulsory English and the Certificate Course in' Buddhist Counseling should compulsorily be studied by all the students.
Currently in the Faculty of Buddhist Studies English medium is offered only for subjects like Buddhist Philosophy, Religious Studies and Comparative Philosophy and Buddhist Culture.
Only the subjects such as Buddhist Philosophy, Buddhist Culture and Archeology can be specialized. If Pali is specialized, either Buddhist Philosophy or Buddhist Culture should be theĀ· secondary subject. Pali is compulsorily be the secondary subject if either Buddhist Philosophy or Buddhist Culture or Archeology is specialized.
The following courses should be selected by the second, third and fourth year students of the Faculty
of Buddhist Studies.
- Diploma course in Buddhist Councelling.
(Only those who obtain 'A' or 'B' grades for Buddhist Councelling in the GAQ examination can follow this course.)

- A Diploma Course in Buddhism - One Year
- A Diploma Course in Dhamma Communication- One Year
- 'Daham Sarasaviya' Diploma Course - One Year
