Requirements for Registration

For Local Students

1. Should have passed at least three subjects at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination including a subject related to Buddhist Studies and a subject of Languages.
   or
2. Should have passed the Diploma Examination in Buddhism, Diploma Examination in Sanskrit or the Diploma Examination in Pali Conducted by the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka.
   or
3. Should have passed Diploma in English Examination Conducted by the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka.
   or
4. Should have passed Daham Sarasaviya Diploma in Buddhism Conducted by the Buddhist and Pali University or University of Sri Jayawardanapura.
   or
5. Should have passed three subject at the Pracina Prarambha Examination.
   or
6. A degree from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification accepted by the Senate of this University.
   or
7. Any other examination with a subject related to Buddhist Studies certified by the Commissioner General of Examination in Sri Lanka as equivalent to G.E.C (Advanced Level) Examination.
   

For Foreign Students

1. Should have obtained one of the above qualifications specified under 1-7 for local students.
   or
2. Should have passed the G.C.E. (Advanced Level)Examination conducted by the University of London or any other examination, certified by the High Commissioner of the particular country or Commissioner General of Examinations in Sri Lanka including a subject related to Buddhist Studies as equivalent to G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination.
