Examination Malpractices
Examination Malpractices are grouped as follows:-
- Keeping in ones possession documents etc. that have not been permitted.
- Copying
- Fraud – Writing replies before hand and attaching them to the Answer Scripts, answering on papers that are not stamp dated.
- Taking examination stationery etc. belonging to the University away from the examination hall.
- Misbehavior-Non compliance with the directions of the supervisor and the invigilator, disrupting the service of those engaged in examination duty.
- Engaging someone else to sit for the examination on behalf of the candidate.
- Improper acquisition of knowledge about the contents of an examination question paper or attempting to gain such knowledge.
- Providing support or inciting to commit an examination malpractice or receiving encouragement to do so.
- Any other malpractice considerate by the Senate or by a committee empowered by the Senate as an examination malpractice.
Punishments Imposed on Examination malpractices
3.3.4.1keeping in one’s possession documents etc. that have not been
approved.
Punishments
The cancellation of the examination candidacy, and invalidating
examination candidacy up to the maximum of one year and any other
punishments as determined by the Senate will be imposed.
3.3.2.2 Copying
Punishments
The cancellation of the examination candidacy and debarring the
appearance at any examination conducted by the University for a maximum period of 3 years as well as punishments determined by the Senate.
3.3.2.3 Fraud
Writing replies beforehand and attaching them to answer scripts, answering on papers that are not stamp dated.
Punishment
The cancellation of the examination candidacy and debarring from
University examinations for a period, not less than three years, minimum of maximum, as determined by the Senate, as well as imposing any other punishments.
3.3.2.4 Taking examination stationery belonging to the University away from the Examination hall.
Punishment
The cancellation of the examination candidacy and debarring appearance at any university examination for a period of time as determined by the Senate.
3.3.2.5 Misbehavior
Non-compliance with the directions of the supervisor and the invigilator; disrupting the service of those engaged in exam duty.
Punishment
The cancellation of the examination candidacy and debarring
appearance at any University Examination for a period of not exceeding
three years as well as any other punishment determined by the Senate.
3.3.2.6 Engaging someone else to sit for the examination on behalf of the
Candidate
Punishment
The cancellation of the examination candidacy and debarring appearance at any university examination for a period of time not less than 5 years and not exceeding six years, and any other punishment as determined by the Senate.
3.3.2.7 Improper acquisition of knowledge about the contents of an
examination question paper or attempting to gain such knowledge
Punishment
The cancellation of the examination candidacy and any other
punishment determined by the Senate.
3.3.2.8 Receiving support or inciting or receiving encouragement to commit
an examination misconduct.
Punishment
The cancellation of the examination candidacy and any other punishment determined by the Senate.
3.2.4.9 Repetition of the committance of an examination malpractice.
Punishment
The studentship of an examination candidate who has been found fault
with the committance of an examination malpractice will be cancelled.
3.3.3 Mandatory Punishment
Following are the mandatory punishments, imposed by the Senate in its discretion, in addition to the punishments decreed for the above mentioned malpractices:-
3.3.5.1Refusal to grant a class pass for graduate examinations.
3.3.3.2 Restricting the marks to the maximum of 40% for answering again the question papers that have been annulled.
3.3.3.3 Cancellation or the stoppage of scholarships and scholarship financial assistance.
3.3.3.4 Invalidation of hostel facilities.
3.3.3.5 Not inviting for the ceremony on the convocation of degrees.
3.3.3.6 Delaying the grant of the degree and the release of results by one year.
3.3.4 Other Punishment
For any other misdeed, not mentioned above, but accepted by the Senate as an examination malpractice, punishments determined by the Senate, in its discretion, will be imposed.
